Bloomex Supplies Flowers for Autumn Classic International

Bloomex is proud to be Official Florist of Skate Canada and delighted to be providing centrepieces, bouquets, gift baskets and floral arrangements for the major national and international skating competitions across Canada.

Earlier this month, Bloomex created and sent the flowers for the Skate Canada Autumn Classic International, in Barrie, Ontario. The Autumn Classic is part of the ISU circuit and hosts some of the world's top junior and senior skaters to compete in women's, men's and pairs events. This year's Classic took place at the Allandale Centre and was much enjoyed by fans and skaters alike.

A very fun part of the job as "Official Florist" is designing and delivering the medallist bouquets for the winners podium! For this event, Bloomex was asked to design a medallist bouquet that incorporated some of the vivid colours we enjoy in Canada during autumn, based on a photo sent by Skate Canada. Our Toronto team rose to the challenge, producing a gorgeous combination of red roses, coral roses, yellow spider mums, statice, hypernicum berries, faux autumn leaves, and other blooms.

As usual, Canada produced several top skating results. World champions Meagan Duhamel of Lively, Ont., and Eric Radford of Balmertown, Ont., won the gold medal in pairs on Thursday. Marissa Castelli and Mervin Tran of the U.S. took the silver and their compatriots Jessica Pfund and Joshua Santillan were third.

It was a 1-2 Canadian finish in ice dancing with Nicole Orford of Burnaby, B.C. and Asher Hill of Pickering, Ont., a new partnership this season, winning the gold. Andréanne Poulin of Ile-Bizard, Que., and Marc-André Servant of Vaudreuil, Que., surged from fourth after the short dance to take the silver medal. In women’s competition, Roxanne Rhéault of Victoriaville, Que., was fifth. Elizabeth Tursynbayeva of Kazakhstan won the gold.

For the men's singles, Olympic champion Yuzuru Hanyu of Japan captured the gold medal, while Sean Rabbitt of the U.S. won the bronze.

Our very own Nam Nguyen of Toronto took the silver for Canada.

Congratulations to each and every skater! Your hard work and dedication provide us with some spectacular enjoyment! Read more about the Autumn Classic at Skate Canada.

We hope that all athletes enjoyed their beautiful Bloomex bouquets!
